WebP to JPG Converter
The WebP to JPG converter changes WebP images into standard JPG files that open in any app. Drop one file or many, choose the quality and background colour, and download each result or all of them as a ZIP. Conversion happens in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.
WebP versus JPG
WebP is a modern image format that makes smaller files than JPG at similar quality. The catch is compatibility: some editors, older phones, print shops and upload forms still only accept JPG. Converting gives you a file that works everywhere.
| WebP | JPG | |
|---|---|---|
| File size | Smaller | Larger |
| Transparency | Supported | Not supported |
| Compatibility | Modern apps | Almost everything |
Choosing a quality setting
- 90 is a good default: sharp, with a sensible file size.
- 70 to 80 makes noticeably smaller files for web use.
- 95 to 100 is for editing or printing, where size matters less.
Questions people ask
Are my images uploaded?
No. Each image is decoded and re-encoded by your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
Will quality be lost?
JPG is a lossy format, so a small amount of detail is lost. At quality 90 or above the difference is hard to see.
Can I convert animated WebP?
Only the first frame is converted, because JPG cannot hold animation.
