Password Generator
The password generator creates strong, random passwords in one click. Choose the length and which characters to use, generate one or many, and copy them. Everything happens in your browser using the secure random number generator built into it, so nothing is ever sent or stored.
What makes a password strong
Length matters most. Each extra character multiplies the number of guesses an attacker needs. A random 16-character password using all character types has roughly 100 bits of entropy, which is far beyond what any computer can brute force. Short, predictable passwords such as names, dates or keyboard patterns can be cracked in seconds.
| Length | Characters used | Approx. entropy |
|---|---|---|
| 8 | Letters + numbers | 48 bits |
| 12 | Letters + numbers + symbols | 78 bits |
| 16 | Letters + numbers + symbols | 105 bits |
| 24 | Letters + numbers + symbols | 157 bits |
Good password habits
- Use a different password for every account, and keep them in a password manager.
- Turn on two-factor authentication wherever it is offered.
- Pick at least 14 characters for important accounts such as email and banking.
- Never share a password in an email or chat.

Is it safe to use an online password generator?
It is safe when the generator runs in your browser and makes no network request, as this one does. You can disconnect from the internet and it still works.
How long should a password be?
Aim for 14 to 20 characters for normal accounts and longer for anything critical. A password manager remembers it so length costs you nothing.
Why avoid look-alike characters?
Characters like 0 and O, or 1, l and I, are easy to misread. Excluding them helps when a password has to be typed by hand.
