Puzzle Calculators: Solve a Riddle for Every Key
A free online simple and scientific calculator where every key is a puzzle. Work out the answer, find the key, and calculate. The clues keep changing, so no two rounds are the same.
What is a Puzzle Calculator?
A puzzle calculator is a normal calculator with a twist. Instead of printing 7 or ÷ on a key, it shows a short riddle such as “Days in a week” or “Share equally among friends”. You have to solve the riddle to know which number or operator the key really is. It turns everyday arithmetic into a quick brain workout and makes a great tool for students, teachers and puzzle lovers.
How the Puzzle Calculator Works
- Read the riddles. Every key shows a clue, such as “Fingers on one hand” (5), “6 + 1” (7) or “Opposite ÷ hypotenuse” (sin).
- Solve and press. Press the keys whose answers build your calculation, for example 5 + 7.
- Finish a calculation. When you press the equals riddle and get your answer, the keys reshuffle and every clue is rewritten with new word riddles and fresh arithmetic puzzles.
- Press the equals riddle. The key described as “Both sides balance” shows the result.
- Reshuffle any time. Keys start in random order, and Reshuffle gives a new layout.
- Stuck? Turn on Show answers to see the real symbol on each key.
Simple Puzzle Calculator
The simple version has riddle keys for the digits 0 to 9, the decimal point, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and equals. Use it for everyday sums while practising mental maths and general knowledge.
Scientific Puzzle Calculator
The scientific version adds riddle keys for sine, cosine, tangent, log, natural log, square root, squares, powers, factorials, brackets, π and e. Trigonometric functions use degrees. It handles expressions such as sin(30) + √(16) or 5! ÷ 2^3.
